SYNOPSIS

Neil Bartlett's acclaimed adaptation of Charles Dickens' greatest novel. A host of unforgettable characters are brought to life in a truly theatrical way, as young Pip - bequeathed a fortune by a  mysterious benefactor - sets out on a journey that introduces him to society but ultimately teaches him the true value of things.


REHEARSAL PERIOD

Rehearsals will take place in the evenings from 7.30pm on weekdays (usually two or three times a week) and on Sunday during the day. Starting from Sunday 11 September.


AUDITION PREPARATION

Audition material will be provided on the day. Knowledge of the book or the play will be advantageous.

CHARACTERS

The characters are split between four individual actors and a company who double up and play several roles. The ages given below are a guideline.

Pip -  25-30  (This part may be split with another actor/actress playing young Pip - 10 -15)

Estella - 20s (also plays young Estella 13)

Miss Havisham - 40 +

Abel Magwitch - 40 +


The Company

Actor One: Joe Gargery / Mr Jaggers - 40

Actor Two: Mrs Joe / Biddy - 30

Actor Three: Mr Pumblechook/ Bentley Drummel / Wemmick - 30/40

Actor Four: Herbert Pocket/ Compeyson / Mr Wopsle 25-30

 

All other characters played by the company.



NOTE

We are committed to improving diversity in our casting and. unless stated for artistic reasons, we aim to actively adopt an inclusive casting policy. This is an amateur production. You do not need to be a member of PTC to audition but actors and crew will need to become members for £25 a year - Direct Debit, or £30 otherwise. A £25 show fee will also need to be paid by all actors in the production. We encourage auditionees to become a member of PTC anyway even if not cast.
