The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time

By Mark Haddon, Play by Simon Stephens

Tuesday 26th to Saturday 30th August with afternoon matinee 30th August

Relaxed Performance*** on Saturday 30th August at 3pm.

    Directed by Frances Bodiam

The dog is dead. Pierced with a garden fork. Standing on the lawn in the middle of the night beside Wellington is fifteen-year-old Christopher. His neighbour and the police believe he is responsible.

Determined to uncover the killer, Christopher turns detective, recording his findings in his special book. His quest will not be straightforward, however. He can remember all the world’s capital cities and every prime number up to seven thousand five hundred and seven, but he can’t bear being touched and he has never explored beyond the end of his road.

Solving the mystery will turn Christopher’s small world on its head in this heartwarming, life-affirming and bleakly funny drama adapted from Haddon’s bestselling, award-winning novel.

First presented by the National Theatre in 2012 it garnered many accolades including the 2013 Olivier Award for Best Play and 2015 Tony Award for Best Play.

This amateur production of “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time” is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals Ltd. on behalf of Samuel French Ltd.

    Pippin

    Weds 3rd – Sat 6th September, 2025
    Putney Arts Theatre

With music and lyrics by Stephen Schwarz, Pippin follows a mysterious performance troupe, led by the Leading Player, to tell the story of Pippin, a young prince in search of the secret to true happiness and fulfilment. He seeks it in the glories of the battlefield, the temptations of the flesh and the intrigues of political power (after disposing of his father, King Charlemagne the Great). In the end, though, Pippin finds that happiness lies not in extraordinary endeavours, but rather in the unextraordinary moments that happen every day.

    Constellations

By Nick Payne, Directed by Rob Wallis

Tuesday 23rd to Saturday 27th September at 19:45 with afternoon matinee at 15:00 on Saturday 27th September.

    Putney Arts Theatre - Studio

    About the play:

A spellbinding two-hander that explores the infinite possibilities of love, choice, and chance through the lens of quantum physics.

When Marianne, a cosmologist, meets beekeeper Roland, their romance unfolds, or fails to unfold, in different forms across multiple parallel universes.

Each time it plays out differently - funny, tragic, tender, or tense - revealing how small moments can lead to vastly different futures.

Both intellectually exhilarating and deeply human, the play showcases the absurdity, beauty, and fragility of human connection through the multiverse of one relationship.

    Cast:

    Marianne - Clare McKervey

    Roland - George Nettleton

Vardy v Rooney: The Wagatha Christie Trial

by Liv Hennessy.  Directed by Owen Thomas James

Tuesday 14 - Saturday 18 October 19:45 with afternoon matinee at 15:00 on Saturday 18 October.

Putney Arts Theatre - Main Stage

    About the play:

Vardy v Rooney: The Wagatha Christie Trial is a gripping, hilarious, and sharply observed courtroom drama that brings one of the most talked-about celebrity scandals of the decade to the stage. In 2019, Coleen Rooney set social media alight when she revealed she had carried out a months-long sting operation to discover who had been leaking stories about her private life to the press. Her dramatic accusation ended with a now-famous line: “It’s… Rebekah Vardy’s account.” The internet exploded, and the spat became known as the“Wagatha Christie” case. Rebekah Vardy, wife of footballer Jamie Vardy, denied the accusation and sued Rooney for defamation in a sensational High Court libel trial in 2022.

What followed was a jaw-dropping legal showdown filled with missing phones, celebrity name-drops, and unexpected comic moments — all played out under intense media scrutiny. Using real court transcripts, Liv Hennessy’s verbatim play recreates this extraordinary legal spectacle with biting humour and theatrical flair. At once a compelling legal drama and a razor-sharp satire on fame, privacy, and the cult of social media, Vardy v Rooney explores the surreal collision of tabloid culture and the justice system. Fast-paced, funny, and often absurd, this play invites audiences to examine who we trust, what we share, and how far people will go to protect their image — or destroy someone else’s.

    The Deep Blue Sea

By Terence Rattigan, Directed by Roger Beaumont

Tuesday 11 - Saturday 15 November 19:45 with afternoon matinee at 15:00 on Saturday 15 November.

Putney Arts Theatre - Main Stage

    About the play:

“To see yourself as the world sees you may be very brave, but it can also be very foolish. To love with one's eyes open sometimes makes life very difficult"

Terence Rattigan was one of our great stage writers and The Deep Blue Sea one of his master works. In Hester Collyer, his main protagonist, he has created one of the great stage heroines: strong-willed, unconventional, and complex.

Set in 1952 in post-Blitz London and Hester’s life is in turmoil. She gambled her life – her home, her status, her marriage to a High Court judge – to pursue a life with RAF dashing fighter pilot Freddie, and it seems she has lost. But with unexpected help, Hester stares into the abyss and tries to find a new way of living.
