Welcome to Putney Arts Theatre

Putney Arts Theatre is home to two resident and related theatre groups - Putney Theatre Company and Group 64 Youth Theatre, both of which perform a wide range of plays, readings, revues, musicals and other entertainments throughout the year.

In addition, many other theatre companies and local groups regularly stage shows here. We also hold regular exhibitions of work by local artists, with many paintings and other exhibits available for sale.

Venue facilities include a main auditorium seating 154, with a main stage that is the envy of most professional fringe venues. We also have a studio theatre, seating up to 50.

To find out more about us, the theatre, our resident companies, and what we do, select from the options above.

 One Minute

By Simon Stephens

Tuesday 21 May
 - Saturday 25 May

A child goes missing on the streets of London, vanishes into thin air. The witnesses’ statements are inconclusive and the police struggle without a clear case or motive. Two men and three women are drawn together by this tragic event and attempt to make sense of the unfathomable in this haunting, humane play by the writer of Pornography, Punk Rock and Wastwater.

Contains strong language.

Love's Labour's Lost

By William Shakespeare

Tuesday 25 June - Saturday 29 June

The King of Navarre and his three gallant young companions promise to give up wine, women and song to dedicate three years to academic study. But when the princess of France and her fetching entourage arrive at court the sparks begin to fly. Disguise, deception, and mischief abound as the heart proves stronger than the mind in Shakespeare’s sparkling comedy.
