Nothing can happen on-stage without the people who work off-stage - the work of the backstage crew is highly valued at Putney Theatre Company. Many of our members have learnt stage management or set and lighting design and gone on to great things in professional theatre.

And "backstage" doesn't necessarily mean "behind the scenes" - the front of house staff are the first point of contact for theatre-goers, and are essential in ensuring the evening runs smoothly. All our members take part in front of house activities, be it box office, serving at the bar or supervising seating etc
